What’s going on?
For those who may still be perusing this site, I should say this. Things are pretty much going to start picking up for me in my life soon. Currently, I’m almost done inking the next chapter, and when it’s done, I’ll be doing some post-production work on it.
As I write this post, I’m sitting at an All City Coffee in Seattle as I wait for the first commuter train to start boarding. I came into town today to finish the application process for community college, which means I’ll be taking some courses this Fall to help further my capabilities as a creative individual. It is my objective to make Fantasia Arks a more enjoyable experience for the reader – you – and returning to college is one way to do that.
Presently, I have a lot of thinking to do about my graphic novel, and how I intend to approach my presentation style. These days, I find myself being too much of a slacker with the inking process, and I think that is causing a degradation of quality. After the current chapter is finished, I’ll be exploring other presentation styles and inking methods during the subsequent chapter’s creation process. One of the most obvious issues is the method of paneling the comic pages. As it stands now, it works fine for webcomics, but it doesn’t go very well in a strictly graphic novel format, since there are too many panels (on average, six) on each page. This reduces the amount of detail I can put into each page, and subsequently, the visual impact of the story.
So, yeah. Lots of things to do over the summer. Yay me.
