Slow going. PAX bound!
Things are going slow as usual with my graphic novel. Motivational issues, but I’m not sweating it too much – I have bigger worries like the upcoming PAX convention in Seattle, as well as the start of my Fall Quarter studies in late September.
I’ll try to keep things up to date here and on deviantArt.

Summer Quarter Almost Done
So far, it seems like this site has become dead, right? Well. That’s mainly my fault, because I haven’t been able to produce the pages for the next volume yet. Still mired in college studies, and the script is still puttering along – needs further refinement alongside the storyboarding process.
I’m working on acquiring a Cintiq 21UX so I can improve my workflow, though.
Things are weird this year.

The Phasmatis Crisis: Reboot?
I am considering rebooting the story and starting over from the top. Most of what has been shown is consistent with the story to a degree, but there are issues that I feel are potential problems for the script in its present state.
One of the issues is the lack of “expressiveness” in the characters, most particularly Maxine. She seems to me, a blank slate that lacks any real depth or definition as a character.
This is something I feel needs to be addressed, along with others that I’ll not name, due to spoilers; until those issues are addressed in the script, I doubt I can continue the Phasmatis Crisis in its present state.
The general plan for TPC is to condense the chapters on Earth into a prologue/introduction, and restructure the story direction from that point forward.
In addition, I have been eyeballing some particular classes that have caught my interest here at college. One of those classes relate to 2D animation, and learning those skills may be very useful in helping market Fantasia Arks.
Hopefully, all will be worked out by the end of the Spring Quarter. Hope for the best!
